Files stuck uploading — how to fix it

The five most common causes and how to clear them in under two minutes.

1. Are you online?

The dashboard shows a small "offline" indicator in the sidebar when your connection drops. Reconnect to Wi-Fi and uploads resume automatically.

2. Is sync paused?

On iOS, check Settings → Sync. On web, the orange banner at the top of the dashboard shows if sync is paused. Unpause to resume.

3. Is your workspace full?

If you're at 100% storage, uploads fail silently. Dashboard → your avatar → check storage usage. Upgrade, delete files, or empty Trash to free space.

4. Is the file unusually large?

Web caps individual uploads at 5 GB; iOS at 10 GB. Anything bigger needs to be split (zip it into chunks, or use a desktop FTP client into your S3 bucket on the Enterprise plan).

5. Force a resync

iOS: Settings → Sync → Sync now. Web: refresh the page (Cmd-R / Ctrl-R) to re-trigger the upload queue.

If none of these work, email support@virtualdrive.us with the file name and approximate size. We can pull server-side logs to find what's blocking it.
